DESCRIPTION:Join Us for our weekly meeting to hear about Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) Youth Shelters in Southwest Florida.  LSF has an approximately 98% success rate of youth returning home to their families to rebuild their lives\, following their stay at our shelters. LSF shelters are managed and run by staff trained to understand\, work with\, and advocate for teens in trouble. Youth often face challenging times that require guidance\, that is why our team of Master’s-educated professionals and highly trained staff provide a full range of services for troubled youth\, ages 10-17. \nOur Speaker: Kevin Stamper\, VP of Development\nKevin Stamper serves as Vice President of Development at Lutheran Services Florida\, where he leads efforts across the state to connect donors and partners with the mission of serving one in 50 Floridians each year. With a background in communication\, nonprofit leadership\, and ministry\, Kevin brings a unique blend of storytelling and strategy to inspire generosity and build lasting relationships. His passion is helping communities rally around the most vulnerable\, ensuring resources reach those who need them most. Beyond his work at LSF\, Kevin is a pastor\, professor\, and author\, but his favorite role is husband to Marie and dad to Jane and Oliver.

New hotels\, restaurants\, retail spaces\, and mixed-use projects are beginning to reshape the downtown area\, including a food truck park. The Town and County are partnering to invest in public improvements such as the new pier\, beach renourishment\, parks\, and infrastructure upgrades. Together\, these public and private investments are helping create a more resilient community while restoring Fort Myers Beach as one of Southwest Florida’s premier destinations for residents and visitors alike. \nOur Speaker: \nJacki Liszak is the President and CEO of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce\, a position she has held since 2016. A longtime Fort Myers Beach resident and business owner\, she also owns Sea Gypsy Vacation Rentals and has become one of Southwest Florida’s most recognized advocates for tourism\, small businesses\, and community resilience. Throughout her tenure\, she has guided the Chamber and local businesses through significant challenges\, including red tide events\, the COVID-19 pandemic\, and Hurricane Ian\, while championing economic recovery\, environmental stewardship\, and responsible redevelopment. Liszak serves on numerous regional boards\, including the Chamber of Southwest Florida Advisory Board and the Board of Directors of Sanibel Captiva Community Bank. She is widely respected for her collaborative leadership and unwavering commitment to preserving the unique character of Fort Myers Beach while helping shape its future.

While much of the island’s infrastructure\, beaches\, and utilities have been restored\, work continues on rebuilding homes\, businesses\, and several landmark resorts. Many shops\, restaurants\, and accommodations have reopened\, welcoming visitors back while maintaining the island’s distinctive charm and natural beauty. Ongoing beach restoration\, resiliency improvements\, and careful redevelopment are helping ensure Captiva remains one of Southwest Florida’s most treasured coastal destinations for years to come. \nOur Speaker: \nSandra Stilwell Youngquist is the CEO and owner of Stilwell Enterprises & Restaurant Group\, which operates seven restaurants\, inns\, and three shopping centers across Captiva Island\, Fort Myers\, and Boca Grande. A self-employed entrepreneur since age 17\, she has built a dynamic portfolio in hospitality and real estate.\nShe serves on the Board of Directors for Gulf Coast Business Bank\, Chapters Health System—the world’s largest nonprofit hospice provider—and The Horizon Foundation\, where she chairs the Edison Awards committee. Her civic involvement includes serving on the Captiva Community Panel\, Gulfshore Life Magazine’s Advisory Editorial Board\, and the Advisory Board for Florida Gulf Coast University’s Resort and Hospitality Management program.\nSandra co-chairs the Planning & Capacity Branch of Resilient Lee\, a regional task force formed after Hurricane Ian to develop resiliency strategies and secure $1.2 billion in federal HUD funding.\nA committed community leader\, she actively serves on the boards of organizations such as Hope Hospice\, Habitat for Humanity\, Harry Chapin Food Bank\, Junior Achievement of SWFL\, Pace Center for Girls\, Lee Health Foundation\, and SWFL Children’s Charities.\nShe is also the author of Resilient Spirit\, a book on entrepreneurship available through Amazon\, Barnes & Noble\, and Books-A-Million.
